AAP Technical Brief - Interagency AAP Coordination

In the Central African Republic (CAR), Colombia, Venezuela, and Yemen, UNICEF has been leading or co-leading inter-agency coordination on Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) at the national and sub-national level. UNICEF’s experience in AAP coordination goes beyond these countries. The organization has played, and continues to play, a leading role in other countries, including in Bangladesh, Haiti, Lebanon, Nepal, and Zimbabwe. The examples here focus predominantly on countries where UNICEF is co-chairing an AAP Working Group. In other countries, UNICEF is contributing to inter-agency AAP Coordination efforts through financial, technical, and human resource inputs.

This Technical Brief is part of a series and captures the experiences and learning from these country examples, focusing on AAP coordination as part of the wider humanitarian architecture within countries (rather than UNICEF’s work on AAP with programme partners). It is intended for use by other UNICEF country offices interested in leading, co-leading, or contributing to inter-agency AAP coordination.
