Social Protection and Jobs Responses to COVID-19 : A Real-Time Review of Country Measures

Some key finds from this "living paper" include : As of May 8, 2020, a total of 171 countries (12 more since last week) have planned, introduced or adapted 801 social protection measures in response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus). This week's new countries and territories include Caribbean Netherlands, Cuba, Curacao, Equatorial Guinea, Fiji, Gabon, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Malta, Moldova, Slovakia and Zambia. Social assistance transfers keep remaining the most widely used class of interventions (60.7 percent of global responses, or 487 measures). Cash transfers include a mix of both new and pre-existing programs of various duration and generosity. Cash transfers are being adapted to COVID-19 response in three ways
